  • IRC blocked by school?

    Hi,

Well, I just moved in to my new apartment tonight which is co-owned by the University. All I know of their provided internet connection is it's a T3 or multiple T3's. This apartment complex is owned and somewhat-managed by the University. I finally get my computer up and running and find that I can't connect to ANY IRC servers. If this is in fact that case, I'd like to get around it. I'm not a hopeless IRC addict, but I just can't get enough of occassionally peering in to see what kind of strange links I can click on. Are there any LEGAL methods of accomplishing this? I'm making the assumption (on very sleep) that they are blocking port 6667 outbound, but I'm wondering if there are typically any other ports that are used on some servers for instances like mine.
    A little help?

    Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
